Ginormous weeds and grasshopper revenge...
Well, I promised an exciting tale of towering weeds, ant skyscrapers and giant grasshoppers. I worked my little fingers to the bone, trying to plow through the green stuff in my front yard. I'm only half done and it's raining AGAIN today so the other half will have to wait. At this rate I'll be mowing forever because by the time I finish the second half it will be time to mow the first half again. I probably should have waited until it dried out a little more, but umm, well, who the hell knows when that will be. There were several spots that were still quite squishy when stepped upon. Not only was I battling the ginormous 4 foot weeds and thick grass, but I was walking rather funnily trying to avoid the mounds of dirt with those nasty little red insects in them. Those bastards hurt! So, I'm highstepping and stomping my feet to get rid of the ants and constantly brushing at my arms and face to slap away the grasshoppers. I must have looked like a raving lunatic. My arms are sore from pushing the stupid thing and my hands are achy from holding onto the bar and I have the beginnings of a blister on my thumb. Oh well. It's good exercise. I definitely need the exercise. I hope the ants don't get pissed off and invade my house. I was getting worried about an uprising from the grasshoppers because they were covering the screen door last night but it looks like I don't have to worry about grasshopper revenge just yet. At least until I plow through the last remaining vestiges of their home. More adventures from The Young and the Boring coming up.And this is only the front yard. I haven't attempted the back jungle yet.
"Overheard in New York" Quote of the Day
Little boy hopping off bike: I've got to rest my penis, Daddy.
Mom: Shhh!
Dad: Good man.
Biking passerby: Whoa.
